Eight Mile Community Meeting

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), South Alabama Center for Fair Housing (SACFH), and We Matter Eight Mile Community Association will be coming together on July 15, 2021, at 6 pm CT for a community meeting at Highpoint Park in Eight Mile, Alabama.

NCRC’s Director of Fair Housing Tracy McCracken and Senior Program Manager Rose Ramirez will provide residents with updates and welcome questions on the ongoing matter against Spire and Sempra Energy that is currently at the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD). Residents will hear from Carletta Davis, State Environmental Chair of the NAACP, on the next steps they can take to ensure that work is done to address this issue. This will also be a safe space for residents to share their current experiences as they continue to live in environmentally hazardous conditions.
