Special Purpose Credit Program Roundtable

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will host a roundtable discussion to call attention to the availability of special purpose credit programs (SPCP) to help to meet the credit needs of eligible individuals. The event will be open to the public via livestream.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia L. Fudge, Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Rohit Chopra, and Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Sandra L. Thompson are scheduled to offer remarks at the event. The event will also include a roundtable discussion with representatives from Mortgage Bankers Association, Urban Institute, the Center for Responsible Lending, and the National Association of Realtors focused on the opportunities and benefits of SPCPs.

Hear about opportunities for SPCPs to help meet the credit needs of underserved consumers and communities. SPCPs are a long-established tool under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B and a way for creditors to expand access to credit for economically or socially disadvantaged consumers and commercial enterprises.
