Virtual Learning: Navigating Eviction
Join NCRC’s National Training Academy on March 21 – 23, 2022 10:00 am-3:30 pm ET for this virtual learning: Navigating Eviction.
As a nation, we find ourselves facing the historic threat of mass residential evictions alongside a national health crisis. Although the ban on evictions has provided temporary relief to millions of Americans, recent data also shows that millions of Americans are currently behind on their rent. The effects of eviction not only puts individuals’ housing stability at risk, but spills over into other areas of life and contributes to declined health, interrupted education, and unstable finances. During this time of crisis, housing counselors are expected to be a reliable and knowledgeable resource for renters and other community members.
Join NCRC in this training, as we explore available resources, when to discuss transition and how to integrate effective techniques into the counseling session. As housing counselors, we can be advocates and resourceful to tenants while also helping them to understand the eviction process, know their rights, be aware of their responsibilities and informed of their options. During this three-day training, we will also explore the key components of the eviction process and discuss strategies that will help tenants attain housing stability as quickly as possible.
